During his visit here, he toured the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience in downtown Meridian. There, Taggart enjoyed the rich history that is showcased through the different exhibits.
Newscenter 11 caught up with Taggart and spoke with him about why voters should vote for him.
“The attorney general is not only the state’s chief law enforcement official, but the state’s top lawyer,” said Taggart. “He ought to be a practicing lawyer with demonstrative courtroom skills and advocacy skills. I’ve argued before the Mississippi Supreme Court, Mississippi Court of Appeals and the Federal District Court in Jackson in just the last two years.”
Taggart will face Mark Baker and Lynn Fitch in the Republican primary on August 6th.
